One year ago, immediately after writing this post on March 4th, I sensed a challenge that said, “Jeff, will you March forth on March 4th?” You need to QUIT DABBLING and DO SOMETHING – March forth on March 4th. Moments later I reread this post below…. And minutes later took action to
Ya think this post affected me?!! And YES, I HAVE NO REGRETS. Sometimes we just need to stop the dabbling and March forth! So, here’s what I wrote…. AND maybe more importantly read and applied. March Forth on March 4th! It felt fitting that on March 4th, the only date's that's a command, that the Quick Coaching Tip should be an encouragement to "March Forth." An invitation to accept your purpose and calling and move forward on this MARCH 4th. I must admit, I'm kind of a war and history geek. (I watched "They Shall Not Grow Old" twice!) But I realize that in war, much of being a soldier is mundane. You sit around. You load supplies. You eat. You make small talk. You shine your buttons. Then, the order comes. "Move out!" Now everything changes. The action begins. I can't help but notice that Jesus didn't shrink back from inviting people to move out.
When the time to go comes, the safest and best thing to do is to GO. Move from where you are to the next place. Leave behind this here for there. In his book, Perfectly Yourself, Author Matthew Kelly wrote, "To know your mission and not follow it is one of the greatest human miseries."
In other words, if you're invited to "march forth" and you ignore it, you're missing out. You'll regret staying put. As a soldier knows, you can't wait in the trench when the rest of the troops move out. There's a next step for you, isn't there? Today may be your day to answer a call to "move out," and you're now free to say "yes." Of course, it will require faith. It will be an act of courage. And saying "yes" feels like a bold move. But the great adventure awaits. It's better out there than it is in here. If you knew how much better it will be, you'd be on your way in a heartbeat. March Forth on March 4th! Love to hear if you have something you’ll march forth on this March 4th! Jeff PS. Ever consider becoming a coach yourself?
